Work Commences at Al Maryah Central Project

Abu Dhabi, UAE, 1 June 2015 – NSCC International has commenced the site preparation and mobilisation at Al Maryah Central for the construction of foundations & piling works for an iconic mixed-use development, to be built on Al Maryah Island linking to The Galleria, Abu Dhabi’s premier shopping and dining destination. The dynamic, US $1.5 billion, 3.1 million sqf Al Maryah Central development, due for completion in Q1 2018, will include a 2.3 million sqf shopping center housing the region’s first Macy’s and Abu Dhabi first Bloomingdale’s Department Stores. The development will also feature two, 400,000 sqf integrated towers comprising a mix of hotel, serviced and residential apartments and luxury residences.

Foundation works that have just begun include the installation of 898 rotary bored piles, 1000mm to 1500 mm in diameter, drilled to depths ranging from 16.1 – 23.1 metres. The piling works contract was awarded to NSCC International by Gulf Related Sowwah Retail Ltd in April 2015.
